Hi there loves,
Welcome back to simply rachel may or welcome if you are reading my blog for the first time. It has been a while since I last posted a blogpost on here. As we all know it has been difficult lately for many people in many life areas. For me it has been consistency and work. Since I last stopped working 8 months ago I have struggled to keep a routine, to find inspiration and the most difficult was to get things done. My blog is something that I always loved writing for but during these times it has been difficult to share content because I had no idea what to write or where to head with my content. My plus size project together with my cousin has been something we are working on in order to share fun content. This has been the only thing I have been working on lately thus in December every Monday a new Plus Size Project Post will be available. For my other content I thought it would be a good idea to share how I pulled myself together mentality and physically in order to continue to fuction and work during these difficult times. I’m not gonna say I just grabbed a cup of coffee and everything worked out because it was a process for me. I did many trails and errors before organizing myself completely. If you are doing to the same or similar thing I hope you do get out of it and maybe with this post inspire you.
First thing and one of the most difficult things was acknowledge that I was not feeling great and that I had to change something. Of course I took my time to process my feelings before trying to get better. This is a very important step that many of us skip when working on getting better. We are living trough a pandemic so it is okay to feel scared, to feel uncertain of things and to not be okay. It is okay, you are allowed to experience these feelings however, do not let these consume you. Try and do things that make you feel better. These can vary per person maybe you can watch a movie, sleep, read, meditate however make sure you can do these things inside, I will not recommend something outside, because it can increase the risks of obtaining this virus. You can also look up online and find new things to try that you can do inside the comfort of your own home. To the people who have to go outside and go to work, I get you, you can be scared and terrified because it is not an option to stay home to you I say stay BRAVE, you can do this and TAKE CARE of yourself as much as you can.
The next thing you can do to get back together is you can either go back to your routine or you can create a whole new routine. You can maybe try new ways of doing things and create a whole new routine that you couldn’t do in the past or if it feels more comfortable you can go back to your routine and start there with the time and changes you can adapt your routine as well. Having a routine for me is important because it gives my day structure, it makes me feel organized and it gives me a sense of accomplishment which encourages me to continue to do things. If routine is not something you are used to you can try to incorporate this twice a week and see how it works for you and then decide what encourages you the most. Remember you don’t need to be perfect you just have to try and see what works for you. In this time we need to learn to be a little bit more gentle with ourselves. We are simply people that are trying to go trough a pandemic.
One other thing that also helped was learning to be grateful for what I had at the moment. I had plans and goals for this year that I couldn’t work on and eventually did not accomplish. Me as a person felt bad, I felt like a failure because I did not make 2020 as I have planned at the start of the year but I realized that I shouldn’t feel like this because I am blessed to be alive during all this uncertainty, that we do not know how the next day will be. Once I realized this I started to be grateful for waking up in the morning, have food on my table and having my family with me. With time I started giving thanks to every little thing I have and this helped me to become a more grateful person but a more happy person as well. I hope this can be your case too. I know it’s not something that will happen in a week it took me over 6 months to be where I am right now but I truly hope it’s something that you can accomplish as well. And don’t get me wrong I’m not happy 100% of the day everyday of the week but the most important is allowing yourself to feel and continue.
Other little things that can help you is learn something new. There are a lot of online how to’s or free online classes. This can be something you are passionate about or something completely new. Also, you can take some rest this will help your body, mind and soul to feel renewed. You can work on your plans, your dreams and your goals. Maybe the little things like writing that business plan you had in mind, create an online or physically dream board or vision board for 2021 or for the end of the year, you can conduct some research on things that you want to accomplish or are curious about, you can take time to fully cleanse your home and belongings, you can create a blog and write, you can use social media and share things that you love bond with other people and lastly but not less important keep contact with your family or friends this will help you feel less lonely as well.
