Hi there love,
Today I’m going to write all about the why I decided to incorporate aspects of the Minimalism Lifestyle in to my own lifestyle. First of all, Minimalism can have a different meaning for different people and the reasons someone may incorporate Minimalism may vary as well. This is why in a previous blog post I wrote all about what Minimalism means to me. Read all about it at What does Minimalism mean to me?.
Are you also in your journey to minimalism? Why did you start? Let’s have a chat in the comment section! You may also inspire others, so let’s inspire people together.
Now let me get to the reasons.
I started to develop an interest in Minimalism when the subject started to pop up on YouTube, Instagram and other social platforms. So it started to become more of a trend.
It was also when I was in a negative place in so many aspects that I just wanted a change. I needed something to change me internally and externally so badly hence why I started to search for simplicity, positivism, inspiration and motivation on different lifestyles. Here is where I stumble on the subject Minimalism as well. I was casually searching online when I found the YouTube channel Lavendaire. She is such an inspirational person to me. When I found her channel I couldn’t stop watching her videos and reading her blog. Another channel that also helped me was MuchellB, she inspires me in so many ways of my daily life and Minimalism journey. And after that I was hooked and I was looking for more videos and inspiration. This led to me making the first step. This for me was the de-cluttering part of my physical belongings. I took about 5-7 bags of clothes, accessories, shoes and more out of my room. It was amazing how good it felt to have less, to own less and to give to others. That was something that really helped me internally, I found some kind of peace I didn’t know before, I started to appreciate what I had Instead of wanting more and I felt at peace without the clutter.
Another important reason why I started my Minimalism journey was because I felt that I had way too much stuff and that was killing me inside. In other words I wanted a simpler lifestyle. I had clutter everywhere and couldn’t keep my stuff organized. I tried different organization methods but nothing really worked for me, everything ended cluttered at the end of the day. When I read about Minimalism I knew I had to try it in order to try and organize my stuff. And it worked wonderfully. Since de-cluttering I am able to organize my stuff much faster and keep them organized which was impossible at first.
Lastly, I was growing up, I was at the verge of graduating from University and I felt like I had to do something with my lifestyle in order get my life together and prepare myself for what was about to come. I knew things where about to change but I was lost where I wanted to go. When reading about this lifestyle it seemed to be a great option to start with, at first I had no idea what I wanted to do. I was so used to be in my study bubble that everything else didn’t matter to me.
At that time I was about 22 to 23 years old and I felt like I needed to change my wardrobe, my room and environment. I was not the child I was before anymore and that’s when I decided to look up more information in capsule wardrobes, which I found when searching for Minimalism information. So in a way you could say I found way more than just Minimalism in this journey. I also found out about meditating and journaling which were unknown to be but has helped me in many ways.
All this happened in 1 year which is so amazing how one change can change your life completely. And let me tell you it has been amazing ever since. I’m still changing, I’m still learning and I’m still exploring all about Minimalism and Lifestyles that I could continue writing about this, so if you enjoyed or would like to know more about it in my perspective, please let me know and I would gladly do it.
I hope you enjoyed reading about why I started my Minimalism Journey and what came with it.
If you would like to share your experience please do! Because the more we can learn and understand in different subjects in different perspectives, the more we can understand ourselves.
